If you are reading this and you think you might be having an emergency, you probably are. Use the numbers below, in order, and stay on the line.

What to do

Four steps. Work through them in order.

1

Stay with the patient

If you are calling on someone's behalf, do not leave them alone. If they are responsive, talk to them while help is on the way.

2

Call us on the primary line first

Use 0809 393 3356. If unanswered within 30 seconds, try the alternates.

3

Describe what you can see

Conscious or not. Breathing or not. Bleeding heavily or not. Approximate age. Where you are on campus. That is enough.

4

Stay on the line until told otherwise

Our triage nurse may guide you through immediate steps — pressure on a wound, recovery position, CPR. Listen carefully.

Ambulance services

On-campus pickups and inter-facility transfer to LUTH and other tertiary partners. Our ambulance is parked in the bay, not hours away.

Triage process

The most urgent case is always seen first — not the loudest, not the earliest in the queue. Triage nurses make that call within seconds of arrival.

In-patient care

We have inpatient beds for cases that need observation. Your care does not end at discharge — follow-up is built into the EMR plan.

Save these numbers in your phone now.

Not in a note you will forget. In your contacts, where you can find them in three seconds. That is the whole assignment.
